theres a direct correlation between how much butter/cheese/cream a restaurant uses and how good it tastes i felt awful after eating this

After literal years of trying to get a res, I managed to walk in with no problem right as it opened at 4:30pm. What's really nice is they let you choose whether you want to walk right in, or if you want to come back at the 6/6:30 or 8/8:30 sessions at the bar. Now onto the food... we got three apps to share - chrysanthemum salad (the best of the three), veal tartare (tart, crunchy, and rich), and garlic flatbread (also rich af, best when eaten warm; gives soggy quesadilla when cold). For pastas, we got the lasagna (sooo good and cheesy, but also very heavy and we could not finish) and the mussels pasta (didn't really like the flavors here - it was sweet and salty and sour and umami which was just a bit too much). Finally we ended with the tiramisu, which was a nice surprise as there's a ton of texture that isn't in your usual tiramisu; on the sweeter side of things. It's probs a hot take, but I wasn't 100% in love with this place; it's good, but it's not the best, and def doesn't make sense why the res go for $200+ on certain sites.
