So The Driskill (yes, that Driskill — ancient, historic, haunted probably 👻) opened a new bar called The Victorian and… wow wow wow wow wow. 🎱 Vibes • Gorgeous historic setting ✨ • Pool table = elite touch 🎱 • Great crowd, great energy • Prices? Unhinged 💸 (but expected) I’ve been before just for a ~$15 beer 🍺 and pool, but this time I actually ate. ⸻ 🍔 The Burger (Jibran-approved) • Phenomenal. Legit top 5 burger in Austin territory. • Thicker patty than your typical smash — more presence, more beef 🥩 • Cheese was insane 🧀 • Technically cheddar, but had this subtle blue-cheese-esque funk that added depth • Either intentional or deliciously mysterious (I don’t ask questions) • Crispy onions = perfect texture • Ketchup was shockingly good • I’m usually anti-ketchup-on-burgers 🚫🍅 • But even I had to respect it 📊 Verdict: 👉 Possibly better than Clark’s. (not considering price) 💰 Damage: ~$25 😬 Yes. 😌 Still worth it (at least once) ⸻ 🍟 Fries • Extremely solid • Almost certainly double-fried • Crispy outside, fluffy inside ⸻ 🌶️ Texas Twinkies • NOT what I expected. • I thought: massive jalapeño popper + brisket + bacon 🇨🇱🥓🥩 • Reality: tiny. Like… audaciously small. • BUT… flavor-wise?? 💣 Absolute flavor bomb. • Spicy, rich, insanely tasty 📊 Verdict: Taste ⬆️⬆️⬆️ Size ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Price ($15) 😵‍💫 ⸻ 🍖 Lamb Ribs (split with Jibran) • Easily the best lamb ribs I’ve ever had • Glazed, delicate, borderline luxurious • More “refined delicacy” than “rustic meat plate” • I’d honestly take these over KG BBQ lamb assuming equal portions 💰 ~$20 (split) 🔥 Worth every bite. ⸻ 💭 Final Thoughts • Yes, it’s expensive 💸 • Yes, portions can be questionable 😅 • But the execution, flavor, and ambiance are top-tier 💃🕺 Perfect for: • Fancy date night • Impressing someone • Feeling like a main character in Austin ✅ Would absolutely come back. ✅ Fire vibes. ✅ Elite burger.
