Ooika has got to be the most authentic place for matcha in the area! I visited the Lawrenceville location and loved it from the moment I stepped inside. The interior is calm and vibey, and the matcharistas were so welcoming. The matcha itself is a beautiful green, and their default is oat milk—which is perfect if you have lactose dietary restrictions. I ordered the Dark Chocolate Matcha and it was absolutely delicious. They don’t sweeten their drinks, but they offer simple syrup so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. And don’t forget to try their matcha cookies—absolutely yummy! Overall, the matcha flavor is more subtle, and I really appreciate that it’s ground in-house. Definitely a spot I’d return to!
