locking back in on taste and will hopefully not get this far behind. we went to oko for a special birthday dinner for jibraan! we didn’t realize it until we got there, but this place is best known for their pork specials and jibraan can’t eat pork so it was a lil ironic 🥶 ambiance here is pretty solid and it’s located right on east 6th so it’s fun start to the night and easy to roll over to a bar after. neon sign catches my eye every time I drive by. to start, I ordered a roti and a skewer. the skewer was good but didn’t really stand out. roti was also pretty whatever. for my main I got the lechon which was out of this world. possibly the best pork I have ever had. crispy outside and perfect tender on the inside. lettuce and pickled vegetables complemented well. they gave jibraan a free mini halo-halo for his birthday which was great for a scoop. a little too sweet if I had to eat the whole thing tho. my drink was cool and they did some milk wash on it. ryan is investigating it in the photo to see if he can find the milk. I think this place does entrees really well (I really enjoyed my lechon, jibraan liked his steak, ryan liked his peanut butter bowl) but leaves a little to be desired in some other categories considering the price.
