Got the steak frites this time! This came with a Martini which is just fancy vodka with an olive Steak was just aite which was a little disappointing. The cut was pretty mid but the au poivre was solid The oysters were good but not worth the $3 hh price They took the prime roast beef sandwich off the hh 😮‍💨 The aperol spritz was 🔥 so refreshing on a hot day

Van Horns HH Monday - Saturday from 3-5:30pm Manny has been hyping up this spot for a while so decided to check it out after paying my dues at lifetime. Got some oysters they were solid, $3 a pop. $30 steak frites and it comes with a martini - i got it dirty and i felt every every mL of vodka in that. Not a martini guy, idk how people drink martinis all the time. 6oz of steak, i personally thought it was a little too salty but overall it was good, nothing crazy. The fries were the hit, they were FANTASTIC, imo it carried the steak frites which feels crazy to say. $10 Aperol Spritz were phenomenal, hit the spot. Solid spot, need to check out the burger next.

I must’ve had a bad batch the first time. This was probably some of the best pizza I’ve had in austin. Good ny style. The pickle za with the ranch hit soo hard this time I think maybe I was really not hungry or they burnt my pizza

canje is truly excellent. this is one of my favorite spots in austin. certainly top 3 for a splurge meal and perhaps #1. haven’t been in over a year and a half and was lucky enough to go 2x in one month. highlights: -roti. this is a must. very flaky and tasty and perfect for dipping in some of the entrees. do not skip. I will say the roti was a little inconsistent on these visits but still a 8.5/10 instead of a 9.5/10 as in the past. -oxtail beef patties. so flavorful and awesome. the pastry is perfect and the meat complements well. only wish they were bigger. -geera. this is also an incredible dish. in the past the waygu curry was my favorite but they nerfed it significantly so this is now my entree rec. so many flavors. meat perfectly cooked. -fish rundown. amother main course highlight. sauce was top tier and the dumplings were a pleasant surprise. -pink pineapple. kinda expensive for fruit but worth trying. the sauce complements it well. -tres leches. need I say more? head chef here has a background in desserts. it’s evident with this dish. so tasty. perhaps overly decadent and sweet but perfect for those who want to live a little. canje holds a special place in my stomach and heart. although the curry and roti were not up to previous standards I still rate this one of the best restaurants in austin.
