i’ve been here a few times so let me share with you what my original review was vs my updated review from my most recent visit.
og: this place is so good genuinely. cool ambiance too. great for a casual dinner. the a choy here is a musttt. also love the location—can end the day by visiting neofuns arcade or grabbing heytea after your meal. we did both and it was vibes.
updated: so we waited 45 minutes for our food and half of our dishes didn’t arrive. we reminded the wait staff 3 separate times and all tables who were seated after us received their food. they literally did not care :D and while i want to give them the benefit of the doubt, this definitely felt discriminatory because we were the only non-chinese table in the entirety of this huge restaurant (we had 1 ethnically ambiguous/white passing wasian who was indeed chinese). also the arcade closed down which was sad. really disappointed because i loved hong kong cafe </3
Everything was actually so good but my fave of the night was the honey garlic pork chop. Really good hefty portions for the price.
Indoor no fart.
Ribeye plate w/ black pepper sauce: 6.5/10, steak was ok, i wasn’t the biggest fan of the sauce
Fried chicken steak w/ mushroom sauce: 7.8/10, first time having fried chicken steak, very tender and sauce was yummy!
Milk tea/hong kong ice tea: 6.9/10, nothing special but also very solid
Overall good portions esp for the price! Open very late as well+++
