the chinatown in DC is pretty lame and small but we were set on finding somewhere to eat there. this place looked the best out of everywhere we passed and I don’t think I could’ve taken another step without eating something so bam this is where we ended up.
we were met with one of the ladies yelling at us to hold on after we asked if a table was available. she yelled a few more times while we were there. other than that it was oddly silent in the restaurant even though there were full tables around us.
the food was wayyyy better than I was expecting given the mid reviews it had on apple maps. all the sauces complimented their dish nicely. the crystal shrimp dumplings and scallion pancakes were particularly yummy. everything else was good too, the only critique I have is the pork bao bun was a little dry and not as fluffy as I like. red bean buns (not pictured 😔) were a perfect way to finish off the meal 🗣️
