UMMMMMM best new Italian resto of 2024???? (Jk 2024 still has a long ways to go), and dare I say that I like it better than its sister resto Don Angie? Def more innovative and whimsical than its traditional counterpart, which I personally appreciated. Stepping into the dining room, you immediately feel like you're being teleported to a seaside town on the coast of Italy. Drinks are tropical/tiki vibes, and I recommend trying the garlic brine martini if you are in the mood for a dirty, spicy kick. Onto the apps... you cannot miss the scallop crudo (thin slices of raw scallop and kiwi - SOOOO refreshing), cheesy frittelle (a touch of honey tied together the rich cheesy carby triangle), and spicy tuna (like raw tuna Arancini). The langoustines were also impressive, but there was just so little meat that I think I burned more calories trying to scrape out every little morsel than I gained from eating it. Didn't try the crab dip since I'm allergic to pistachios but I think my friends liked it!! The stuffed mussels were also yummy (think paella and mussels). As for the mains, all three that we got hit so hard - the lobster triangoli was a pop of creamy and zingy flavor; the stuffed farfalle was my personal fave of the two, with a citrusy zest and creaminess to it; the steak was so unique, with fried peppers and a thin crispy breaded layer around the meat (cannot emphasize how much I ended up liking this!!!). As for dessert, def can skip. We got there on a Saturday at 4pm and there were already 6-8 parties ahead of us; walk ins are def doable but you will need to wait.
