this is not your average korean restaurant. this is a business dinner with korean clients or gossiping over what kind of corporat/university/test scores your children got to flex on other middle aged korean helicopter moms and their husbands whose only meaning in life is to bring home money. 67$ for steamed duck, steamed 차돌, soupy 불고기, a different kind of 전복죽, and fundamentally sound 반찬 true to korean cuisine. the steamed duck quite simply tasted like ham, an astonishing feat when often compared to chicken, supposedly makes you sleepy but probably the food coma. the brisket was nice thin and not guilt inducing since it comes with a nice spread of steamed veggies, melting in mouth soft. the shellfish porridge was a standout, not popular with non korean friends but for those that acquire the taste will definitely recognize its high quality ingredients and execution. the side dishes were some of the best i’ve ever had in recent memory, very large variety, complimentary 첫 and 깻잎 and omelette, shedding the basic borings for well made rarities. supposedly supposed to get pumpkin soup for dessert but didn’t come this time. i will return to bring my parents or to ask for a business deal from an elder. probably not good enough level to ask for a daughters hand in marriage but still impressive despite the high cost.
