The drinks and service were good but what does it matter if your friend gets an allergic reaction and the restaurant won’t give them Benadryl bc “it would put the whole building at legal risk”
Waiting for hours in line for a spot at Death and Co and Attaboy? Not a chance, way too much pain to get a chance to drink a good cocktail.
Luckily the drinks at Clemente Bar are top notch, and reservations are easy to come by. Drinks are more focused on their non-alcoholic ingredients (like delicious foam or amazing rhubarb), but that’s what makes it unique here, and still some of the best drinks in the city. I honestly think some of the drinks are better than many of the places on the world 50 best bar list.
Never meet your heroes 😪. I think I would have really liked this place if I could drink dairy, but unfortunately, I cannot. There was only one drink that looked like I could safely drink (because I hate whisky), and it was pretty yummy, but Martiny’s does a better version of it. It smelled like a designer store inside. Staff very friendly, but oddly slow? We were definitely less dressed up than the others so maybe that was bad for us hahaha. We each ordered one drink and Aman ordered 2. Very weird.
“Eleven Madison Park’s sexier younger sister” is a pretty good way to describe clemente - many great drinks and many great dishes
