Down the rabbit hole we went, and into the charming world of The Hatter Cafe in Mentone, Alabama. This delightful spot is a must-visit for fans of Lewis Carroll's classic tale. As we sipped on one of their 23 delicious hot teas, served in beautiful old china cups and teapots, we felt like we were in Wonderland itself. The food was a culinary adventure, with dishes like the 'Hot Brown' - a delicious open-faced smoked turkey sandwich with bacon, served on homemade bread, topped with a rich Mornay sauce. We also indulged in the 'Cheshire Meow' sandwich, a delightful combination of Havarti cheese, pear, and fig jam, all perfectly balanced. And let's not forget the crabcakes, which were the cat's meow! The homemade salads were all 'curiouser and curiouser,' with fresh ingredients and creative flavor combinations. The whimsical decor was a treat, with oversized playing cards, floral arrangements, and teapots galore. We half expected the Cheshire Cat to appear and offer us a mischievous grin. The gift shop was a treasure trove of Alice-themed goodies, perfect for souvenirs. And the outdoor seating area, with its lovely trees and garden views, was the perfect spot to linger over a pot of tea and indulge in some delightful conversation. As the Mad Hatter would say, 'We're all mad here!' And we'd have to agree, after indulging in the delightful atmosphere and scrumptious food at The Hatter Cafe. Whether you're a fan of Alice in Wonderland or just looking for a unique dining experience, this charming cafe is sure to delight. So grab your favorite tea cup and join the Mad Tea Party at The Hatter Cafe!"
