Tried Mai Tai (downtown Austin) and it was a genuine pleasant surprise ๐ณ๐๐น
We meant to go to Vince Young happy hour ๐ฅฉ๐ธ, but Adhi and Jibraan vetoed, so we pivoted across the street. Iโd never been, zero expectations.
We walk in andโฆ ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Completely empty.
Friday night. Downtown Austin.
A little concerning โ but that meant elite service ๐
Atmosphere was nice โจ๐ด, menu was standard Thai ๐น๐ญ. I got the green curry ๐๐ฅ โ honestly good. Rich, comforting, no complaints. I chose purple rice ๐ฃ๐ because itโs healthier and Iโm kind of on a diet. Didnโt mix perfectly with the curry, but spiritually? Correct choice.
Adhi and Jibraan got pad thai ๐ โ solid, nothing insane.
Price was about $22 all-in ๐ณ๐ธ, which feels fair for downtown. That saidโฆ if Iโm choosing, Iโm always pushing Vince Young happy hour first ๐ฅฉ๐. I probably wouldnโt come back here on my own โ but if someone really wanted to? I wouldnโt be mad ๐
NOW. The aftermath.
Later that night weโre playing poker ๐ and Jibraan is ripping ass nonstop ๐จ๐. I walked straight into one of his fart clouds and it felt like getting Nova gassed โ ๏ธ๐งช.
Not saying it was the Thai tea or the pad thaiโฆ
But I am saying it should be investigated.
Overall: good food, good service, low hype, high collateral damage
