New resto by the old chef at Claud (aka my fave wine bar / European spot in the city) and it’s perfect for if you’re a seafood lover. Cocktails are super creative (think ingredients like seaweed, pumpkin seeds, buckwheat, etc.) and there’s a nice wine list. The only thing I’d ding them for is the service - had to wait 25 minutes even though we had a res and the pacing of the food was bizarre (there was def a duration of 20min+ where we were waiting for the next course), but I will chalk that up to the fact that they’re still only about a month old and getting into the swing of things. Onto the food: you have to get the bread, leeks, cod & clams and the pancake. I think the crudo dishes we got - scallop & amberjack - were both good but not stunners. Would be interested in the Sunchokes next time as well. The apple cider donut was yummy - surprisingly tart but I think that was on purpose based on what I read online about how the chef purposely wanted more of the cider notes rather than cinnamon and sugar and the celery ice cream float, while strange in theory, actually wasn’t so bad in execution. Think this would be a fantastic date spot, and would want to chill at the bar next time.
