Ok, gotta explain this score because I do feel it’s a teensy bit biased: I first ordered from Rice Thief when it just opened and operated under a ghost kitchen. The quality has gone down a lot IMO - from size and freshness of the crab, to the marinade etc., but because there really is no other good marinated crab/gejang specialty restos in NYC, I think it’s got the market cornered (for now anyways). Went to the actual resto for the first time today and was a bit disappointed by the crab itself, and the marinated salmon was quite salty. The red shrimp is still great as is the scallop, but don’t think I’ll be rushing to return here again. Honestly think the gejang from BCD or other shops in ktown are of similar quality at this point. Is also quite expensive.
