In full transparency, we only went here because we were like dang, we need a bar sort of in the East Village so that we can conveniently meet a friend, but it also cannot be too far into the East Village. So Pretty Ricky’s filled that niche. And, they had pickle chips and popcorn chicken and Caesar salad wedges. As such, it met many of our needs. It is a little dark, and with World Cup summer incoming, it’ll probably be crowded, but if you really like pickle chips and the East Village you probably won’t be disappointed. But only probably. My roommate did not really like the pickle chips. She had grievances with the batter.

We went to Hidden Grounds after a CycleBar class, because we were tired (in a good way) and were hosting a birthday party later that night. This place had one of those screens you order on (fun!) a variety of latte flavors (so fun!) and my lavender latte was so delicious (very, very fun!) Not to mention, one of the baristas had a hungry caterpillar knit cap on. Refer to the children’s book by Carle for clarity. So that was really cute, and we were sure to tell her.

The Knicks were playing, and we went in for a drink. We looked at the menu, and thought cute! And expensive! So we got strawberry drinks. We start sipping them, then a waiter comes up. We had free sodas we got from a Broadway show before. And yes, probably poor judgement to bring them in. But he REALLY did not like us, flaunting our free sodas. So anyways to wrap the story, slightly rude service and overpriced drinks. But the Knicks won.

It Saturday and it was raining. We had a show in an hour, and we wanted food. Needed it, badly. 345 Cantina was empty, and so we walked in. Things escalated. The strawberry margaritas, the quesadillas, the NACHOS !? Wow. Everything, everywhere, in this place was so, so good. And we made our show on time. But it was still raining.

It was pretty nice, and I got to tap my order on an I-Pad, so that was also nice. Very I-Pad adult child moment. If I recall, the drink was very alcoholic, but we just had a stressful afternoon apartment hunting, so it was also very needed.

An absolute summer vibe. It’s big, it has cheap drinks, and it exists on a rooftop. I would not ask for anything more. Be warned, something about the vibes here will keep you in a trace until it’s 5am and you’re like dang. I should probably go home. After I get McDonald’s.

Stumptown coffee! Yes! One time they had a Coraline cold brew and it was coconut-flavored. I’m not sure how that relates to Coraline, other than the alliterative title. She’s from Michigan, living in Oregon. Neither location gives coconut. Regardless, it was very creative and very nice! That was at the Brooklyn location in Cobble Hill. There’s a few other locations too. I’m not quite sure where.

It was crowded but I suppose pizza attracts crowds. But more importantly, it was very nice! The slices were big, and I got a hot honey (something), so I’m certain I enjoyed that (something)-ness.
