If you want pasta that punches above its weight, Centro on the Square in downtown McKinney is a must-visit. The strawberries‑and‑rhubarb burrata is by far the best appetizer. The spicy rigatoni is comparable to Carbone… and, dare I say, a better bang for your buck.

Live piano and full band sets lounge beside the bar each night. Expect handmade pastas, big steaks (this is Texas) and an 11-layer pistachio cake.

The savory cannoli dip is inventive, with just the right mix of sweet and salty. The drinks are beyond superb — its sister restaurant in Dallas has a Michelin Exceptional Cocktail award.

Inside the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, the spot blends classic steakhouse vibes with over-the-top Western flair with a massive crystal horse over the bar, framed pistols on the walls and servers in snap-button shirts. The menu leans heavy on high-quality cuts, delivering exactly what you'd expect from a Texas steakhouse and then some.
