person i went with said the niku udon was best. the meat was really good but the soup tasted like beef jerky. would’ve like a little more herbs and veggies to join the conversation but still a good time. noodles fantastic as raku standard. tad over priced for soup and rice noodles, even for NYC standards. would only go back for a better reason next time. asahi hit

"Love the appetizer. The chicken karaage was delicious but the spicy mayo sauce tasted very acidic so we ended up using the Buta udon sauce. Wagyu appetizer was tender and yummy. Seasonal mushroom udon - there was a variety of mushrooms in it. The broth was savory and the mushrooms were cooked well - had good texture. The udon was cooked perfectly. Overall, it’s delicious but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special. Just good udon. Buta shabu udon - very smoky pork belly but it wasn’t really seasoned, just tasted smokey. It came with udon, sesame dressing/sauce, cucumbers and the pork belly. Very simple but I don’t think it’s worth $23. The udon are thinner than the ones in the hot udon.
