While the food is decent, this restaurant is basically everything I despise about a certain type of restaurant. it exists solely to maximum extract your wallet. The optimizer the proprietors of this restaurant used is:
- minimize input costs without genuinely upsetting most people (miniscule portion size)
- maximize instagrammability and short form video virality;
a. in its current presentation its a gimmick food. Ooohhhhh wide noodles and theyre ✨japanese✨. Tempura bacon ?
b. "omakase" decor while playing shinunoga e wa and qr code ordering
I think fuji kaze makes decent music. There are probably several dozen Japanese people who have devoted their lives to this type of udon. but this place is a simulacrum and makes me feel violated .
