Since I work from home and adore cafes, I decided I’m going to look for the best remote work spaces in NY! Disclaimer that I am new to coffee so it all tastes pretty similar to me.
Region: Upper East
Vibes: Chic retro, French and jazz music
Working: Free wifi. Designated laptop and dining areas. Upstairs work area has strong wifi, somewhat limited seating, small tables, plenty of outlets, some chatter, medium volume music. Downstairs work area has weak wifi, uncomfortable seating, no outlets, dim. They close at 5pm.
Latte: ~$8, smooth, they roast the beans here and source them from Colombia, also got a ~$5 cookie because I was there so long, it was meh
Bathroom: Yes, clean
Service: Kind, fast, staff was French which is cool (idk why but I feel I should include that)
Other notes: The tables have stickers that ask guests stay for only an hour, but I and others did not adhere to that (tho I definitely stayed the longest). Lovely laptop free areas. They have meals for ~$10-15 if you are hungry.
The latte would be the biggest reason for me to return to work, but it’s a great place to hang out.
