Region : upper east
Vibes: classy, cottage-like, cozy
Working: Free wifi. Lots of chatter and sounds of the kitchen cooking (probably not the best place for online meetings). Comfortable sized tables, some outlets available. Plenty of seating. Piano music tinkling quietly as a backdrop for all the other bustle here. Nobody else seemed to really sit and work here for extended periods of time as it’s largely a meal spot.
Food: $3.50 mini carrot cake was delicious! Had nuts in it for crunch and was perfectly sweet. $6.50 latte. Really did not like this one (Walker’s rule of looks good tastes good continues). Tasted burnt and bitter (didn’t ask where the beans were from cos I coulda charred black beans out of my pocket and it woulda had the same taste). Added sugar but it could not be saved. Ended up getting a tea (the coffee was too bad) and they gave me a cute little pot with some milk, so I made a lovely Earl Grey milk tea! Loved that.
Service: Fast, curt, not many smiles from the staff but that’s fine they were quite busy. The manager chastised the workers often.
Other notes: Food if you get hungry $6-20. Crowded around lunchtime, but otherwise lots of seating options. Clientele seemed somewhat mm wealthy and a little older? I mean the wedding rings on some of these elderly ladies musta been weighing down their hands So I ~definitely~ blended in as a freshly financially independent adult🤩
This is a great place to meet up with someone to chat. Lovely ambiance. I can get distracted by noise, so it was helpful to have noise canceling headphones in such a lively place. Fine for work but not the best imo
