I think my expectations were too high going in, but I’d rank this reasonably below all the other popular Italian restaurants in NYC that fill this niche (I Sodi, Don Angie, Torrisi, Carbone, Lilia, Misi, Roscioli) and wouldn’t go back.
Their dishes weren’t all that creative, execution was good but not stunning. My favorite was the bucatini which had a nice brightness and the pancetta was a good texture.
Olive oil cake really stood out! Delicious and not too heavy.
