this spot is right around the corner from my friends apartment in bushwick. for some reason, infatuation has it as one of the best tacos in the city… I would have to disagree. my first visit here was almost 3 years ago when my friends first moved in. that weekend we went out and on a drunk walk back, we stopped by this spot for food. it hit the spot but I was pretty faded. this time I returned sober before heading towards chelsea to hit the gym. I got a carne asada taco (at the bequest of the infatuation editors who claimed it was better than the pastor) and the pastor quesadilla so I could try the full range. the carne asada was whatever. there was nothing particularly notable about it that I don’t separates it from any other taco joint. guac was a welcome addition but honestly the guac wasn’t even that good and a bit too liquidy. the pastor quesadilla was good but mostly because it was a quesadilla. the cheese really carried and the pastor meat itself wasn’t all that. the pineapples also were sliced too thick and were not properly ripe. all in all, this spot is nothing special and I really feel for those who may have been hoodwinked by infatuation and traveled into bushwick to try it. it’s decent but not worthy of any special acclaim.
