driven by this place countless times but haven’t ventured in until last thursday. me and manny were searching for a dinner spot to hit after an excellent lift.
thursday night at jacoby’s is 1/2 off the chicken fried steak (and steak frites/martinis). I got the CFS and it was only $14. I was not expecting it to be so filling and come with such good sides so I also ordered the mac and cheese.
the steak was excellent especially for the price! so many places that have chicken fried steak have it frozen but here was def prepared properly. for $14 it was a steal and came with phenomenal mashed potatoes.
mac and cheese was really good as well but due to the size of the main course I took 90% of it home to have later on. I think this was my first time taking a to-go box on food that I ordered this year. I normally dial in as a perennial member of the clean plate club.
me and manny split a bone marrow app with some bread/peaches. it was okay but the bread could have been crispier. bone marrow didn’t taste like much and was more of a spread. the peaches were good (straight from fredericksburg) but could have been more prominent as I feel they were overpowered by the bone marrow. bacon bits on top were too large; smaller pieces would have been better.
martinis were $7-8 each due to the happy hour so we each got one. excellent.
ambiance was very good and for the price I am very satisfied. felt like an upscale cracker barrel cause it had a lil store in the front with knick knacks.
will be back for this deal!
