In my new found desire to broaden my taste, I’ve been searching for dan dan noodles, thanks of course to @bradley😃 Today was the day, the anticipation was high, and the meticulously stapled paper carry sack just added to the mystery. As I opened the bag and stared deep into its interior, a spicy aroma arose to my senses. Oh boy, this is as exciting as it gets 😂
Alas, I opened the lid, and was a bit surprised. This looked not like the Dan Dan noodles of Flushing, but more like Chinese beef stroganoff 🧐 It was quite soupy and the noodles, though great, were very slippery, making my already suspicious chop stick skills, almost impossible.
I rated this as fine, because it was fine. I enjoyed the experience, and the walovi cooling tea is magically good.
They have amazing looking dumplings, so I’ll be back for those.
