"milli is barely a month old but I think it’s the best pastry program in chicago. you’ll find on the menu really imaginative flavors (I’ve tried the rosemary eclair, the osthmanthus squash loaf, and the cross laminated bun with peach jam and whipped oolong ganache and they’re all so good and unique). my favorite pastry is the canele tho, a humble offering but i like that (1) it speaks to the storytelling and intent that defines the program (they reimagined it to not include colonial ingredients like vanilla) and (2) it is damn good. it doesn’t hurt that the place is gorgeous, and despite always teeming with people always has a table available for you to work" - jess
