Downtown, Austin
โ—7.1
Tried Mai Tai (downtown Austin) and it was a genuine pleasant surprise ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿน We meant to go to Vince Young happy hour ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ’ธ, but Adhi and Jibraan vetoed, so we pivoted across the street. Iโ€™d never been, zero expectations. We walk in andโ€ฆ ๐Ÿฆ—๐Ÿฆ— Completely empty. Friday night. Downtown Austin. A little concerning โ€” but that meant elite service ๐Ÿ˜Œ Atmosphere was nice โœจ๐ŸŒด, menu was standard Thai ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ. I got the green curry ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ”ฅ โ€” honestly good. Rich, comforting, no complaints. I chose purple rice ๐ŸŸฃ๐Ÿš because itโ€™s healthier and Iโ€™m kind of on a diet. Didnโ€™t mix perfectly with the curry, but spiritually? Correct choice. Adhi and Jibraan got pad thai ๐Ÿœ โ€” solid, nothing insane. Price was about $22 all-in ๐Ÿ’ณ๐Ÿ’ธ, which feels fair for downtown. That saidโ€ฆ if Iโ€™m choosing, Iโ€™m always pushing Vince Young happy hour first ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ‘€. I probably wouldnโ€™t come back here on my own โ€” but if someone really wanted to? I wouldnโ€™t be mad ๐Ÿ˜Œ NOW. The aftermath. Later that night weโ€™re playing poker ๐Ÿƒ and Jibraan is ripping ass nonstop ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’€. I walked straight into one of his fart clouds and it felt like getting Nova gassed โ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿงช. Not saying it was the Thai tea or the pad thaiโ€ฆ But I am saying it should be investigated. Overall: good food, good service, low hype, high collateral damage
