after hearing rohit glazeeee the steak frites at bar peached, I knew I had to give them a shot.
he refused me and manny’s invite to dine with us so we replaced him with steve and han.
the steak frites here sit at $25 which is a solid deal for the quality of meat you get.
the steak: juicy, perfectly cooked and with a nice outer crisp. every bit was top tier. arguably the best steak in steak frites I have had.
the toppings: for some reason, bar peached has an obsession of putting peanuts in every dish. considering this spot is a few blocks from where I live, I would likely come back much more often but unfortunate 90% of their dishes are toxic to me :( even on the steak they insisted on putting peanuts inside the butter. i’m not sure what that added to the dish but unfortunately that meant I did not get the butter on my steak and they had no substitute. I would probably have liked it more with the butter but it was still very good. there also was bok choy which tasted pretty good and I liked the marinate it was in.
frites: the fries itself were okay. nothing special but perfectly acceptable. i’d say like a 40th percentile fry.
overall I enjoyed the meal but was not blown away. would come back but probably not for a while unless they end their pro-peanut propaganda.
