luke's review of Allday Pizza: Tarrytown

shortly after moving to austin, I heard folks hyping up home slice pizza as one of the best spots in the city. while not terrible, it was nothing memorable. was this all austin had to offer on the pizza frontier? after getting spoiled with new york and new haven style ‘za around ever corner back home… was this my new life? thankfully, I had yet to peak. the pizza scene in austin is still a far cry from what we have back north, but there are some notable spots I would proudly take my friends from new york. allday has joined that list. (bufalina, allday, pedrosos) the ambiance here is phenomenal; I didn’t venture inside but they have indoor seating as well with a wine bar attached. the outdoor patio is shaded with plenty of greenery. the pizza itself was excellent for all three slices I had. I tried the tomato, spicy marg, and sweet sausage. the highlight was def the sweet sausage which had a great blend of flavors (the other two slices were also very solid; the tomato slice impressed me and was reminiscent of a garlic knot in the best way). crust was perfectly crisp and thin which allowed the toppings to flourish. a little thinner than a new york style slice but I think it worked here. price-wise it’s a bit on the steeper side but for the quality, vibe, and size I have little complaint on that. I will definitely be returning often; location wise it is in an area with very few cheaper food options. I didn’t try the pickle slice or the stracciatella so those are still on the bucket list.
