As much as I love Blank Street and go there any chance I get because I don’t have any in my area, this location was highly disappointing. The location itself is nice, with lots of seating area, clean tables, kind staff, and fast service. But these drinks did not succeed my expectations whatsoever. I ordered the iced daydream matcha, which comes with lots of sweeteners (vanilla, honey, cinnamon syrup), so this matcha should be sweet. But, after drinking about half of it, it became extremely bitter and tasted nothing like a daydream matcha (which I’ve had before and know what it tastes like). Normal matcha is bitter, so there was nothing wrong with the actual matcha. However, if I’m ordering a matcha latte that is meant to be sweet, I wouldn’t want a harshly bitter drink. My friend also ordered the lemon loaf matcha, which had this weird stingy aftertaste. Understandably, if the drink has lemons, it will be sour but you could barely taste the matcha and the matcha was also splitting. Now, please don’t take this as a sign to never get blank street! I just wouldn’t recommend this particular location.
