"nep cafe used to be a decent spot, but their food and service have seriously gone downhill. earlier today, my significant other and i called ahead to confirm if they accept cash, since yelp doesn't list it. a woman on the phone told us they do accept cash (just that they don't provide change). no problem. fast forward to the end of our meal, we asked for the bill and left cash on the plate, as instructed. our server, young woon, seemed rushed and honestly, a bit rude throughout. when he saw the cash, he suddenly tells us "we don't accept cash." we explained that we had called earlier and were told otherwise he completely ignored us. then, in a condescending tone, says "we have to use our own cards." what? what would be the solution if i didn't have my apple pay?!?!? wash the dishes in the back???? yelp also lists that nep doesn't accept apple or android pay.... but i guess nep does... frustrated, we called the restaurant again from the parking lot. the same woman answered and repeated that cash is accepted until we told her what happened. then she changes her story and says "cash payment varies by server and their own discretion." what kind of policy is that?? the food was mid at best. it looked really good, but becomes quite sickening with overpowering flavors. definitely not worth the confusion or attitude. save your time plenty of other authentic viet spots in the area that actually respect their customers and know how to communicate. not coming back" - tiana
